Our New Client Consultation & Care Matching Process

At Olympic Peninsula Home Care, we believe that excellent care starts with truly understanding our clients — not just their needs, but also their personalities, preferences, and routines. That’s why our consultation process is thoughtful, personal, and designed to create the best possible match between client and caregiver.

Step 1: In-Home (or On-Site) Consultation
We meet with the client — and, if needed, a family member or representative who knows their needs best — to learn about:

• The type of care required

• Desired schedule and hours

• Medical conditions, mobility needs, and daily routines

• Hobbies, interests, and personality traits​

This meeting helps us gain a deeper, more personal understanding of the client beyond what’s on paper.

Step 2: Developing a Personalized Plan of Care
Together, we complete a detailed Plan of Care tailored to the client’s specific needs. This includes personal care preferences, mobility assistance, dietary requirements, and any special instructions.

Step 3: First Shifts with a Skilled Supervisor
We schedule the first few shifts with one of our experienced supervisors. This step is key because:

• Clients may feel more comfortable sharing concerns or preferences with a supervisor rather than a new caregiver.

• We can observe and note likes, dislikes, and routines in real time.

• The supervisor ensures the care plan is followed and makes any needed adjustments.

Step 4: Caregiver Matching & Training
After observing and learning more about the client, we carefully select a caregiver (or caregiving team) who will be the best fit in personality, skills, and availability. The supervisor then personally trains the caregiver(s) to ensure they understand:

• The client’s care plan

• Personal preferences

• Communication style

• Safety protocols

Step 5: Ongoing Support & Communication
We maintain regular check-ins with both the client and the caregiver to ensure satisfaction and make adjustments when needed. This process has led to incredible success in creating lasting, positive caregiver-client relationships.
